Artist Statement

I'm a fiber artist who loves to push the boundaries of the medium, blending traditional techniques with unexpected materials and approaches. Always seeking new possibilities, I often use naturally dyed fabric and upcycled fiber 'stand-ins' such as used guitar strings.

Texture is always at the heart of my work.

My journey as an artist is also richly textured. I’m a singer-songwriter, and the combination of my voice, arrangement and thoughtfully crafted lyrics envelop the listener. My goal is to effectively communicate the emotional essence of the song.

I take the same approach in my visual art practice.

I see the world through the lens of possibility, and I communicate my positive outlook and sense of wonder in the art I create. Using upcycled and unexpected materials, I hope to encourage people to rethink their assumptions and expectations.

I believe that creativity is key to critical thinking, and through the use of unexpected materials I hope to stimulate a creative spark in those who view my work.
