Flat is boring! Create textured paper from recycling.
Turn ordinary household recycling, kitchen waste, and botanicals into highly textured, dimensional art. In this intimate 4-hour workshop, we’ll move beyond the idea that paper has to be flat. Instead, you'll learn how to create low-relief sculptures and deeply textured sheets using simple techniques and tools you can easily re-create at home.
Workshop Highlights
Learn the Simple Method: Master a straightforward, low-water approach using a standard household blender to process recycled paper pulp.
Essential Rhythms: Connect with the satisfying rhythm of forming, pressing, and drying paper. You'll practice forming sheets directly over textured elements to capture unique impressions.
Color and Texture: Experiment with blending botanical inclusions right into the pulp, and discover a hassle-free way to add color without dealing with messy dyes.
Your Takeaway: Walk away with 8 to 10 unique, handmade textured papers. We will dry a few pieces together during class, and you’ll get clear instructions on how to easily dry the rest at home.
Bonus Blueprint: Receive a practical home-studio blueprint and the confidence to keep creating in your own space.
Studio Environment: To ensure plenty of personalized, focused guidance, this workshop is limited to just 6 participants and takes place in a comfortable, covered outdoor studio.
