From Garden to Silk: A Fresh Indigo & Bundle Dye Experience, Aug. 15

$120.00

Join me in the dye garden! In this intimate, hands-on experience you will transform fresh, garden-grown botanicals into a wearable piece of art using two distinct natural dyeing techniques on a luxurious 11" x 60" Silk Charmeuse scarf.

First, we will explore bundle dyeing. You will print directly onto the silk using rich Hopi Black sunflower seeds, vibrant dried cosmos petals, and freshly harvested cosmos blossoms. Next, you will learn a beautiful resist-dyeing technique: we will carefully tie off the sections featuring your fresh blossoms to mask and protect their vibrant prints. Finally, we will dip the entire scarf into a fresh, vibrant homegrown fresh indigo bath to create a stunning, layered over-dyed effect.

(if you prefer a white background on your bundle-dyed scarf, you can skip the Indigo step)

What’s Included

  • Premium Materials: One 11" x 60" Silk Charmeuse scarf, pre-scoured and mordanted so it is completely ready to permanently lock in the natural colors.
