Flat is boring! Create textured paper from recycling.
Transform the discarded in this intimate 3-hour creative adventure.
Embark on a unique adventure to transform ordinary household recycling, kitchen waste, and foraged botanicals into textured handmade paper that tells a compelling story. In this intimate 3-hour workshop, we’ll move beyond the notion that paper should be flat, creating low-relief sculpture and highly textured sheets – all with tools and techniques you can employ at home.
Workshop Highlights
Learn my simple method: Master a simple, low-water method using a household blender to macerate recycled paper pulp, creating texture and form with unexpected items.
Essential Rhythms: Connect with the rhythm of forming, pressing and drying. Form selected sheets over textured forms and elements.
Color and Texture: Experiment with botanical inclusions for texture, and discover an easy way to incorporate color into your paper without messy dyes.
Your Takeaway: You’ll create 8 to 10 handmade textured papers. Some will be completed and dried during our time together, and you’ll leave with instructions for drying the remainder at home.
Bonus Blueprint: You’ll receive an easy home studio blueprint and the confidence to start creating handmade paper at home.
